Man Crushed to Death After Refusing To Use Pedestrian Bridge In Lagos
A middle-aged man, simply identified as Olamide, was crushed
to death by a speeding Danfo bus while trying to cross the ever-busy
Ikorodu expressway at Ojota area of Lagos Tuesday evening.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the deceased who died on the spot, had just arrived Lagos from Ibadan with his wife.
According to eye witness account, the couple had shunned the pedestrian bridge and had attempted crossing the road when he got hit by an incoming vehicle and had his head broken.
It was gathered that the bus driver who fled, was “fleeing from Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA officials” for plying a BRT lane, a restricted lane not meant for commuter bus drivers.”
“The man’s wife thought her husband was by her side, it was after hearing the big bang that she looked back and saw him lying on the road with blood gushing out of his broken head.” a female sympathizer disclosed.
The corpse has since been taken away by the bereaved wife.
