A retired judge of the Imo State High Court (name withheld) is
alleged to have taken some members of the Zion Methodist Church, Obazu
Mbieri to Alaogbaga Shrine of Chokoneze in Ezinihitte Mbaise Local
Government Area of Imo State over a land dispute.
It was alleged that the judge, who is reported to be a senior member of the Methodist Church built his house on land belonging to the said Zion Methodist Church and that the church sued him in an Imo State High Court sitting at Iho in Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
Our correspondent who monitored the case said the jurist who recently retired from the Imo State judiciary, was sighted at the shrine on April 29, 2013 when the matter was first called for mention but that the defendants in the matter did not appear.
Efforts to reach the said retired judge on his mobile line proved abortive as the line rang without response. The matter was adjourned to a later date.
